Sesame tofu recipe

Ingredients
3 pieces of firm tofu, cut into 3 slices vertically
1/2 Egg, lightly beaten, mixed with 1 tbsp milk or water
60g sesame seeds
50g plain flour, sifted and mixed with 1/4tsp salt and 1/4tsp white pepper
cooking oil for deep-frying
Marinade
1 red chilli, seeded and ground
1 garlic clove, peeled and ground
1/2 spring onion, finely chopped
2tsp light soy sauce
5tbsp chinese rice wine
1tsp sugar
1/4tsp salt
1/4tsp ground white pepper

Arrange tofu slices in a single layer on a flat dish. Combine marinade ingredients in a mixing bowl and pour over tofu. Leave to marinate for at least 15 minutes, turning the tofu slices over occasionally. Dip the tofu slices, one at a time, into egg and milk or water mixture. Coat with sesame seeds and flour mixture. Deep-fry the coated tofu slices in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on absorbent kitchen paper. Serve with chilli sauce. Note: Vary the amount of sesame seeds according to your preference.
